There's still. You know a lot of little things that we've got to work on it and fortunately. We're gonna have that time and -- this -- I think -- going to be essential because we we spent a lot of time with our starters. But recovered -- units to better in. You know the plate with good energy of the ball -- eleven penalties. Couple of those. You know we certainly can clean up but. There's some hidden yardage lost in the return game because of the two big penalties. But overall. You know the B the bill lot of good things I'm sure will we see the tape and -- Enough things that we get cleaned up up on the injuries right now. Although more is these guys commit them all questions.
Sean they're demand number times this season where you face a team with a three point -- did you talk about the challenges. That your office bases against that that's.
Well this is it this little different 34 front at its release. Mostly an under -- it's different than New England. Different them. Yes some of the to get teams so. Little bit more zone pressure from the linebackers insult and I you know so the backs tight ends whoever's in protection. Needs to be on top of it. You know in. But but from an assignment standpoint it's it's a little bit more. More like an under front that it is 34 for a shall without -- tonight's -- Questions. If you more answers. You know I'm hopeful you know I'm hopeful that what we put the tape -- we can. We got a lot of snaps. We got a chance to see a lot of different people. -- You know that the kicking game is going to be important that valuation. And these these battles were talking about so how they performed in the coverage units return units are going to be. Critical. So what I think they understand that's we've got a lot of film recover. As coaches and then review it in grade then and they're going to be important this certainly is going to be an important date this study. As will next week. Total bill shorter week going to Nashville Wednesday. But you'll see is we would continue to watch him in and look at these guys. -- Chris ivory I was making plays again just your thoughts obviously they play it. Well everything he's been doing it repeatedly yet and yet in each game there's some things it innings of work on -- with his with his landmarks. You know he's. A lot of potential. There's a work in progress he made a heck of a play on the on the catch for the touchdown. And so you know and each game there some things that you've seen. That you really feel positive about and yet in each game there are some things you see that you recognize. That he's young and there's some basic mistakes we've got to get cleaned up but overall he -- with energy and protected the football so that was positive.
You've already mentioned that you like depth in the running back position as far as the active roster is concerned -- and it. You know deeper. Woolsey. -- when asked about Reggie is this the best pre season and virtue lies that the secret is in good shape.
He's healthy the other stuff really pulled him back. And that's not always been the case but certainly mentally and physically. He's he's in good shape disease is is Vincent -- Joined -- so. You know he appear both. I thought it solid reps that I got a lot of work in we were bit we're able to get some of those other owners involved. As the game progressed which which was --
Back -- very. You're either undrafted free agent running back -- a lot in college that because of injuries he hadn't really done so. -- with Chris ivory he didn't really do a whole lot in college because of injuries which made him a little different than some of the other undrafted free agency rot in that position what was it that you in the coaches saw it well.
He's got size and speed that those are two things -- and you really begin agreed that free agents you know -- players. That's immeasurable and I think when you get into Sunday evening working on. Side in free agency in each year. Do you see you with different players. So. You know them. Yeah he's been able to take those assets and transition. Which we saw earlier practice you know your watch and pay attention. He has would've seen him. You know he just consistently. Has been able to get positive yards and yet there's a number of things that we've got to clean up. It corrected and that's somewhat -- expected. Certainly -- come from it's a big step up and but that's been -- as well. Having seen film obviously you're assessment that. Always bacon plays and then all of a sudden there's alignment there's technique you know and in so he. Really similar what we're just talk about actresses is is doing some positive things -- yet I'm loses. Make mistakes that that he's gonna you know have to get cleaned up and corrected so. You know he got a lot of reps that I we've played in the kicking game so. We'll take -- weakens the overall greater. Showing just a two questions one is your thought process on putting -- back. And then secondly what are your thoughts about this illegal snap thing you know -- the -- That thing looks like he could be a real pain in the you know one well I don't know why. I think all sudden we get into this and I hate that. Tempo. Can be controlled or gets dictated were taken away from Drew Brees. You know came up last night in the -- Them. You know I don't know. Mechanically. If we were ready for. All this other words quarterbacks look at it. Play clock here. I'd make sure gets snapped off. Certainly he's looking at safeties looking at the centerpiece in the shotgun is making sure the receivers are line now -- Get a thumbs up so we can step football and yeah. I just think it's something that all of a sudden. If it's gonna take way temple plays and certainly that's something we feel like we're pretty good that then obviously this is that something. Already we've switched to week -- we have to look at you know week one it was look at the -- three overs right shoulder. Forget the defense. Or the play clock. So that quickly got changed. Obviously. There's a lot of -- Stewart so. Anyway what was your other question. Yeah basically. With where we were. -- united wanna return. Reggie anymore in. You know Adrian order to see what he could -- sparse. Just being consistent but they're pretty did you. A coach given the fact.
That you know you carry two quarterbacks three quarterbacks in the fact that drew does. Take all the snaps is it almost somewhat of a luxury I guess with the thought process behind carrying two versus carrying three in your opinion. Especially if if these two are close.
Well it's your questions fair mean I think when listen when teams carry two they gain an extra roster spot for another position. All right and sometimes that can be significant when they carry three that field. Comfortable with and confident that they they've got. You know someone that they wanna protect him in. So it's kind of a mixed bag and we've never gone into. But training camp and said. Whirling gonna keep two quarterbacks -- gonna keep three we we tried to really look at it in. And pay attention all the other spots but pay attention -- the quarterbacks. That are compete so what to do the same thing. And I thought Patrick played pretty good that I. -- get snaps with the first unit Libya had hoped that he would have gotten. But I thought Buddhist temple temple and have a -- was good but he located the ball well you know -- got hit on the one play that was intercepted. Where we just gotta. Felt little short protection but the voting handled the tempo real well and campus -- For him just based on the numbers I kept drew went with with the ones. You know it's just. A gut feel is. As the games progress and you know with where we're at we're like I think 31. At the half. And a order to see a little bit more from those guys and come back out to start the second half so. -- Played. A lot of nickel -- him -- both. You know we'll have a chance to watch on tape that. You know I'll bet he got at least -- 25 snaps -- I about the play quite a bit and good disease or give us a lot of tape to look at. And he got some snaps against some other good people. Yeah sure -- sure it. Would Oswego. -- thank you.
