Yeah. And we're -- it is all the script writers. In Hollywood this. We just heard in the news. If they're remaking. Dirty dancing. Is this not one of the signs of the end of the world. You know at least a few years ago they had a whole excuse -- they were on strike I don't know what the dealers. I mean -- -- one of classic and it's a classic movie wasn't one dirty dancing enough they're gonna remake dirty dancing they're gonna -- it I. I will go ballistic. If I hear about anybody to -- to remake the godfather. Or one of those other classic movies remake dirty dancing -- just talked to my my nephew right Josh in mobile. Any -- my my brother -- dad went to go CBO the number one movie the box office suite is the of the rise of the planet of the gates. And He said it was really good I've seen previously that I didn't see the movie of the weekend but it looks kinda freaky to me. I haven't seen it but I mean it it looks interest. I thought it looked interest. I haven't seen it. It looks it but it looks period but its lead in the than they re did planet of the -- with Mark Wahlberg guard not too long ago cell be and again yet again -- that that one didn't really. Take off like they want it to I think that's why they're starting over again that's been the latest thing and Hollywood is they reboot a franchise. And it doesn't really do as well as you thought so few years later you reboot it all over again -- him like a whole different cast and a whole different but did that with the Hulk. They did it with Eric and a and then when that movie got kind of panned by critics didn't make as much they thought they just reboot it all over him with -- Edward Norton. -- I I don't know what's going on all I know is. In a way like they're kind of killer on the soil on Patrick Swayze is grieve by Republican dirty dancing I unless I can I can live -- as long as they don't remake road house and because I -- house -- a classic. It's classic and I hate to admit that I just saw that recently. On a rerun of one of monitored channels that I did and I about a classic I admit all you want every time that -- come on TV. I'll watch I have the dvd I'll still watch it on TV every time you know there are those movies that no matter how many times the wrong. We will watch that and there are certain joints. For me. The godfather god father to. Love actually hate to admit that 'cause it's -- chick flick but it's it's true. I'm security for Tommy Tucker tonight and all this week except for. Friday night saints take on separate Cisco in the superdome beginning of the pre season and the saints open the season. In Green Bay against the Super Bowl champions the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night September the -- quite an honor for the saints once again to be. The team that opens the NFL -- third time in the last five years I think com they did. 2007 they'd they'd open against the colts in Indianapolis. And it -- here obviously they were they were the defending Super Bowl champs and they posted on the vikings not score again this week. This week but this year they're gonna go to Green Day and opened the season in Paris earlier it's it's really of course are gonna crop apart compliment the ports for weeks from Thursday. That's great -- make sure we get that out four weeks from Thursday we're getting close here is a very disturbing text that just came in. They are remaking footloose. How cheesy is that at another class. There -- classic movies that should not be re -- Dirty tactic should not be reached on leave it alone if you enjoy pressure with a comet we're talking about the stock market we're talking about a book a bunch of things tonight. And you know we we welcome in a couple of new listeners because if somebody called earlier. And because of my opinion on something they said a they were gonna no longer listen so that left an opening for one more listener Chris we've been pretty packed. But we -- -- since one dropped off we had room for a new listener. Now we've kind of got a waiting list that we had a couple of people Corey and she'd do dropping his wife and I can't manage Georgia all new listeners I know we Wendell. I know were all little oversold but that's all right you know what the way the first two hours -- they they might become new listeners pretty quickly because I think I think we're blowing through that waiting list pretty fast. Well it's my job. -- to join our show with a comet cynical to 601870. And toll free 866889087. In you can text or show by texting 87870. In New Orleans chuck welcome to WWL. And what that is dumb and other remake the movies and with Hollywood but I mean. As long as the people -- watch on the -- remake and mean coming back in the remake -- like whatever it was not freaky Friday -- -- like. Twelve different variations of the same exact got that widget. People go out and still watch just because those that gap from the -- -- you know fright night they were making the you know a lot of web editors because the Colin Farrell. It was a bad maybe elaborate game ever -- that are on but it's still -- And I doubt that no one's gonna be any better in the first. I know it's but it bothers me when classics. Well I don't know that there are there is a classic movie that I think needs to be. Redone because it's -- it's there's a it's a great theme great story. By. In what she were part of that generation you probably can't relate to the movie today. And it this is a movie that could be be redone but I like -- I don't like their classics being redone. But I'm surprised that nobody has redone the graduate. Ally great it was a great movie doesn't help those -- It was an awesome movie. And in there was -- it was a great theme thereabouts an older woman younger guy a it was a it was a it was a classic that's one classic that I would like to see you re darn. A little surprised to hear their -- re doing dirty dancing because that seems to be. And to be modern enough to relate to people today. Like I agree review it's like where the script -- because -- -- people that are out there that would give local. Directors from New Orleans -- -- -- that it actually put that news -- but you have a lot of these people. They can't get -- done and they're gonna remake this garbage but like -- that you would think. In noble com. By ten or fifteen years younger than you but this same thing -- we group policy step and they're just remaking it's also because unfortunately. A lot of the people from my generation will go arm ability kids they're gonna go watch a remake and it's like. Yet it was funny when you were twelve and thirteen but it's not it's funny when you're you know forty years old. Let let me let me just jump in real quick with chuck just for a second because I -- say about fright night. How community better and Chris Sarandon aggressor and Susan Sarandon brother. And the neighbor from married children that is a stellar cast. An event. -- second that. The market going to be backward benevolent I mean. The thing that out. I think a lot of people go into is how look affinity mutual funds are actually long Tripoli Paper is if they're long Tripoli Paper. The market -- went down quite a bit further quite a bit quicker. Everything's going to be okay everybody's trying to scare us -- time next year at this time everything will be fine nobody panicked chocolate to call the show. We're talking about remakes this. What I love about live radio is you just never know where it's -- ago we've we've -- have plans to talk about things that sometimes up Angola so -- we'll just happened. Pay scoot I think you are full of blank half the time but I enjoy listening if the couldn't work things out. This is America we don't I'll have to to agree on here's here's a text I hope they never remake top guard. No do not remake top -- don't remake the godfather remaking dirty dancing what movie should never be remade. 26 so. 187 -- its toll free 866889087. I like that question as you can get a really broad. William bunch answers -- that question but again I think the graduate should be redone. Why do you think it should be redone. Do you think it doesn't age well. I think that the that the theme is great I don't know when did the graduate come on in the sixties I'm guessing about where that it was 67 OK I was gonna say I was gonna guess -- 68 at you're probably be genius with that. On it just it it occurs to me that the theme is so great. And and there are generations that can't possibly relate to today's I'd like to see that redundant dirty dancing doesn't need to be reached on. And don't ever -- top gun or the godfather. And any of the god offers a no well the third when stupid. They went to -- that was like jumping the shark. But you know what you can just act like that would never happen you can only -- U verse two that's all I don't act like they like apparently never happen I will not watch the third when it was just too stupid -- you know you're the term jumping the shark -- yeah -- originates with the happy days episode with the Ponzi jumping over -- with the -- TV shows. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Jumped the shark. Is a phrase for. TV shows that stayed on the -- too long. And I don't I never saw it but that was my impression of the -- -- you finally bit and it -- come -- caddie would that same way caddie shack. Well that is one -- -- that is one of my favorite scenes. In in any movie is that that moment Sam -- in back to school where he's the history teacher he's talking about the Vietnam. Well that's what you thought would that's when I would have to the thought of -- -- -- -- -- -- -- They -- -- -- tell -- -- including a remake advantage if you. But beyond that they can do I'm gonna -- buy. The original score watching it. Oh yeah -- so we're so they're remaking dirty dancing that's forgot it's on this Brian logical to show fewer attorneys for the government tonight colts are 601870. The toll free and succeed exceeding 20. Excited. And our section receipts and it. This -- music. Win. Too much. And if there is one movie that should never ever. Ever been -- to. It's this to a rocky horror picture. Tony Tucker tonight -- this week I'm skirts on WWL ledger witnessed their we're making the movie dirty dancing. A much to my dismay. Getting subjective. Adults remake any John Hughes. Movies especially weird science. That movie is the greatest piece of cinema ever it makes Citizen Kane looked like showgirls. At the -- the I remember showgirls with was at Berkeley the girl from -- about it but it she was. Not all you -- you know I grew up with saved by the bell and a all the characters that or on that show that she thought. Might possibly detonate it in a movie she was the one that I didn't think would ever do it because the character she played with select them and it's and everything. But she was also the one I thought was the hottest. And so. She runs I was pretty exciting it was showgirls game. Who's the other girl who's in that -- got dark hair. I act I camping Internet about a dollar and showgirls and say by the bell there were two there was Tiffany and Tiffany amber at these and -- and lark for coach. Tiffany amber face and I looked her in. Son in law with the polish your that's another movie that should never be redone. -- how you could do that without but that's like saying like remake him back to school without Rodney Dangerfield I don't know who you would get. That's like remake him He was big event to without Peewee Herman. Not detention have been made in the first place or in -- remaking Ernest goes to camp put out earnest well. Gotta gotta take steer don't remake scarface Apollo thirteen. And at top gun the godfather a couple of there we're talking about the number one movie -- it via box office this weekend -- -- the rise of planet of the apes which is essentially. A remade and it's been remade before it wins recently -- Technically it's not a remake it's a pre. Because it takes place before them playing the EU I understand venturing to show how. The ending a plan the scheme that is really don't have any interest in using -- that we heard on the news tonight have not heard this obvious. Checking the news earlier Burgess started tonight on WWL that there remaking. Dirty dancing we you know how all this upstart. Horror movies. Because horror movies woods had endless sequels and each one of them would make money. And solos like we don't have to put a whole work and this who can bring back the same character and continue that character's adventures even though we supposedly killed them off. And so the the horror movie star and lots of sequels. Understand there had been an -- it was a Friday the thirteenth. -- what happened was they got so many sequels. That. No continuity got all convoluted it's -- you know what let's just start over. And they start remaking all these are movies that are had a ton of sequels are there is their rioting going on in. The UK. Which really interesting about the rioting going on in the UK is how it parallels. Things that went on in the UK at the time punk rock. First became popular getting -- that here in just a few minutes -- talking about a Texas governor Rick Perry. He was at this big a prayer events over the weekend which I don't have a problem with with that at all. But what scares me is when you have. A presidential candidates. Use. Religion. As if they're going to use their religion. To lead and that's our big 870 pretty general opinion poll. Go to WWL dot com cast your vote should a president use his or her religious beliefs to lead America. WWL dot com Moscow to Marc -- or the studio for an update on the -- the the poll reads yes 27%. No 73 -- I thought it was gonna be the other I supposed to be the other way around we've we've had a lot of callers. Calling in and saying the contrary I think but. That the majority of people that are going online saying no and and and I would agree with them. Am I. Well -- I totally agree that a president should not use his or her religious beliefs to to lead America. It was a big deal win John F. Kennedy -- so elected president because He was the first Catholic president. Nixon was a Quaker. Clinton was baptists. And George Bush wise George W wise. This couple I'm assuming that is his father was as well. But I just don't like -- I get really scared. When I hear that we need to return this country to moral values. Because my values and my morals may be different from yours. But it doesn't mean that I don't have morals. And values. -- president use his or her religious beliefs. To lead America. To join a show with a comical to 601878. And toll free 8668890870. And you -- text or -- -- texting 87870. Here's a text that reads MTV. Had a remake of rocky horror in development but it fell apart. Thank god. Well here's the thing about rocky horror at the stage. So essentially gets remade nightly. Yeah it in its place form and but I I know which is saying in the movie version I mean I don't know what you would do without Tim Curry defense records you could do anything that well. Again you could get Richard Simmons deployment partner somebody I don't you know you can always find somebody to there'd be way to -- -- -- way too much -- if Richard -- doesn't. Let's -- town does seed thanks for hanging on welcome to WWL. And mortgage -- B. Port. Howard the duck. And never saw them. Eligible to did you get that acutely. Made it just. Really George Lewis wouldn't admit that He made. You pay it. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Note network will ever -- do it so. That. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Howard the duck such a classic -- that He shouldn't be remade. Don't let let me just say this the -- George Lucas and do all He wants to keep the movie off TV but out and target today five bucks are even go pick it up watch it. I don't think Politico the show thanks ballistic if -- any movies that aren't. Or so under rate that and that nobody knows some of my favorite movies the movies that have the best. Message I'd like movies. I like movies that make you laugh. -- like movies that have a message. Like movies and a message more than movies that make you laugh love movies that did you both of those things I don't like movies that make me cry. Even though I -- there are some movies that may be cried like movies and going in knowing. Knowing I'm gonna -- I'd stay Whitman has -- So what movies that major. I'm I cried one of my favorite movies one movie that I think has one of the most profound. Messages. In any -- Is. The legend of Bagger Vance with Will Smith. And -- Jack Lemmon and Matt -- It reminded me my dad was a big golfer and it reminded me of my dad and Jack clemency. Character. Passes away it's looking back on his life and it may be cried because it reminded me of of my dad. But the movie has such a profound. Message. Amazing if you have not seen the legend of Bagger Vance. Go lot of what -- -- rent movies anymore its blockbuster others to open blockbusters has a lot locations. You know people going to Netflix. And there are but a blockbuster locations told Arnold to -- -- -- but there's another move. It has a really great message to it too and this is more of -- A rock. On comedy drama. The banger sisters with Susan Sarandon and difficulty on I've never seen and Geoffrey -- wonderful movie it's about. It's a movie about how in the rock generation we have matured. And one character has matured. And settles for are comfortable life the other men still remains a rocker's before but the rock generation the banger sisters and I hadn't had a wonderful message. I'll I'll give via a comedy that I love that's kind of a cult classic that a lot of people probably don't appreciate as much as I'd do. UH Jeff. -- -- weird Al yank -- movie with Michael Richard Michael Richards Kramer -- -- both of them before they were famous and and I just find Larry I've always loved that result did. And I think it's funny that was was a classic movie. I can join a show with a comic Michael to 601870. And toll free 866889. Is nearly seventy and you can text or show by texting 87870. Here's attacks that reads. Goalies should never be remade the I have two I agree with that I didn't appreciate I always love the scenery and groom these. And when I moved to Portland. The movie was filmed in Astoria which is is on the coast just to the -- of the west of of of Portland. And it was so nice to actually see. That it really does look exactly like that. John Snow remake agreement that kiwis big adventure. For that matter anything with Peewee Herman and it would you be you brought that up earlier but I like He was big adventure now that's the sequel where He was in the circus not so much appealing big adventure I was I was really charming. In capital where He lost his bike He lies it is his bike is his favorite possession in the world and someone steals it. And so that He goes on this adventure to find his missing bite and I think to this day people who take toward the Alamo still assets in the basement -- a and why are we talking about this tonight because we just heard on the news under review a little while ago -- they're gonna do a remake of dirty dancing it's like why I mean it's it's it's such a classic. And in the number one movie this weekend is the rise of planet of the apes. Which as mark -- points out is. About a prequel bloodied still based on. It's still based on planet of the apes and I'm wondering if side if they were so few script writers in Hollywood. That we have to keep remaking movies there's a text that reads it's okay scoot I agree with you. Rick Perry scares the hell out of me too He imposes far too much religion into his politics. You know I don't want I don't -- president I want a president to be immoral person. I want. A president. To. Have values. But I don't like the idea that a president. Is going to. And I get this I get the sense from from repairing it and you know maybe I'm wrong I'm not looking forward but I get the sense that there's an attempt to. Inflicts. Specific. Moral values. On me and that's not the job of the president. What the president to be religious person. But I don't wanna hear about the president's morals because again you could have morals and values. That are different from somebody else's but it doesn't mean that you're not a moral person. Which values. The joy and pressure the comet to six -- one and so -- your calls here in just a moment and toll free to numbers 8668890. X seventy. And our tax number is 87870 -- text that reads. Adam Lambert would be a good replacement for the star of the remake of rocky horror picture show yes. Adam Lambert from American Idol would be an axle which -- if they ever did. Remake rocky horror picture show I don't think -- mind the costumes that's -- you know or. Or the make up. -- there -- riots in night in the UK how we'll talk about that also the stock market fell by 634 points today. And as I said earlier. I wish I had cheese. For all the winds that I heard today about losing money in the stock market. It's example. I'm not happy anybody wants to -- much. He does that make me happy. But if you put money into a situation where you're gonna you're gonna make money by gambling that you can't whine. If you lose money. I'm scoot in for Tommy Tucker we're coming right back under the W. There's rioting in. The UK and has several different cities and this reminds me of the late seventies. I'm scoot him for Tommy Tucker tonight's panel this week on WWL. XM BAM 1053 FNN dot com. In the late seventies. There was an attempt to push. Punk rock. The United States. But He didn't work and I remember being on the air and I remember talking about this a punk rock certainly had its influence in America. But there was an attempt to. Force punk rock on America. But the unemployment rates in Britain. Were so -- The British economy was so bad. The punk rock. Reflected the anger and thanks to. Of Britain. In the late seventies. Very very early eighties mainly that the -- having Sex Pistols and and a number of different a punk rock bands you remember the names. What's interesting ago. Is that right now the unemployment rate is so bad in America. The US economy. Is not in good -- I'm wondering if and I hope this is in the case. But I'm wondering if what we're seeing in. The UK. Could possibly happen here. There was such an unsettled. Community. In the United Kingdom in the late seventies arrogant punk rock you know music is -- music is always a reflection of our lives. Music is is is who yard. The music reflects who we York you know a lot of people will will always complain about. Was complain about oh the rap music it's it's it's causing young people to act as -- no it's not. The rap music is reflecting the way. People already act. This is something again I'm in all the things that I've studied in my career this is one of the things that that I studied is is is media is entertainment. A reflection of society or does it dictate behavior and I think it is there's far more evidence. That it's a reflection. A society. And that it doesn't dictate behavior so it's going to be very interesting to see. What goes on with these these riots in the UK and prime minister Cameron ways. Was on vacation in Italy and He is now returning to a to England but. The unemployment rate the British economy riots in the UK I don't I'm not predicting that that's gonna happen here. But it is something interesting to watch because the difference between. What happened in the late seventies with punk -- at at at a time when the British economy which was down and unemployment was always very high. The difference there is it wasn't like dead in the United States but now we've got some problems to consider. To join our show with a comic to Michael to 601878. And toll free 8668890870. And you can text -- -- by texting 87870. It will get to your text here in just a moment -- welcome to WWL. Allah is that it was an electorate that in a minute -- you out of sentiment have that same thing the other day when I had about. About what's going on -- gonna give myself my god why could have been ambivalent about that he's -- very well. He told me a long time ago. Economic value that needed it He that's gone on -- -- country right now He said do not think for one minute significant that the American that it could not happening. Well I certainly don't -- predicted -- certainly I ever wanna encourage -- -- you you know can't help but look at what's going on and look at the mood in this country. But bright and hope I mean obviously not a good one that you about what his thinking about the content that was the right. The economy is at what happened with the stock market looked that would happen would be an appointment. I mean when I can't even talk on the -- you mentioned a little while ago the heat index one of the one who didn't like one thing of being. And apple extreme. Everything on my life is it really is and I picked up until about this this man. What picnic area prompted. I don't know if you can about the. -- is going to. But Rick Perry's play in the game right now as governor of Texas He is going to become a Republican presidential candidate. The big 2000 and I don't know it has become a going to be confused. The company's gonna run and company we're gonna run then the big island on Hannity and Sean Hannity active about it. Any make it sound like He might not unlike regular -- make up your mind. Well Donald Trump loves the publicity and that's exactly what he's -- what he's getting. I thought yet yet from my husband that He can He not gonna run -- do in this you know code for attention on something but I know one thing. What I take a look at everything going on in the world. I mean He gonna vote for whoever is running against Obama and it has no. NAND flash. I don't could be why can't be black can't be cut stripe in the capitol. Got nothing could duplicate. You've got to do with everything that's going on I think we need somebody else because we can make a little bit the way. Well we we we definitely. Need to change in Washington Janice I'm going to call the show with it would be nice if we could vote everybody out. And I used the word vote on -- of -- it could also be replaced we -- here. We should fighter that law that's a great text your comments coming up next for Tommy Tucker tonight I'm screwed on WWL. Still punch in for the night shift. Call 5042601878. Or toll free 8668890. Late seventy. Now back to scoot. We're not really humans on this this planet. I I really want us to. Look at ourselves and realized how. Inhumane we are I'll explain more about that coming up in the next hour. There's a text that -- that kind of confused about your statement if something is it is moral or immoral depends on common cultural norms. You're making it sounds like morality is an individual choice which by definition it is not it is defined by the comic culture. And community standards. You're my Fave host BTW thank you very much of it. There there are. There are differing. Specific morals in the context of our general civilized. Society but there are definitely.
