Good did never leaves you know. It's new Portland that always fair. At all their. Talk to use it you know an amateur years Europe touring in and I've talked about this on the year before I've had the pleasure of seeing you guys in a couple of different cities -- I've been on the year we've we've all looked up and had a lot of fun. It's it's so great to see you. Promote this city and it's so great to see because everybody who goes to your shows and these of the cities it is not from earned and from New Orleans. But yet they -- the way they love the way you talk about the city and you all seem to. You always seem to have an interesting way of of promoting the city in his office and quite often your quite an ambassador. So and is quite an ambassador for the city of New Orleans whatsoever mine what's on your mind right now nine I know it's easier. To promote New Orleans in a place like there's Shreveport but when -- and in other cities like Denver or where Portland or if you're in the East Coast somewhere Texas. What are your thoughts and now if you go out on the road promoting New Orleans we are we ours -- city. Obama is just you know let you know a lot of it's just. The kind of simple basic missing -- kind of thing you know so for me. Chrome has always meant to be cliche -- but home is where artists so that. Kind of where'd gravitate to you know and complex -- search local city. Anyway. Before. They use -- and the future release and -- -- -- else you could it's whom you He can't really in your area. Quote the human style restaurant only quote places like Portland or. Earlier all right there was I -- day in downtown Denver and there was a place right across the street called by you blogs and they and they had crawfish. But here's the way they did day here's the way they did crawfish at this one place in in in Denver and they they haven't this is you know Louisiana cooking. As soon as they would get the -- here and they had to cook them because it was too expensive to keep them alive so they would they would cook them and then when you would order them at sometime in the future. They would they would sprinkle seasoning on the outside of the shell -- -- them -- -- and serve them to you so you're right about the food not quite be in the same. Do limited -- -- especially Cleveland launcher right you know locally and in great. Count you know very unique and everything that it would affect what we got this -- -- from the guy who owned the war on dollar strong. -- -- -- You know normally you just kind of you know a good thing oh we gotta say you know we got -- got to cut. But this -- was adamant that went out and incredibly well and out. Policy like al-Qaeda can count on -- and become the we go right and we have. Dinner and I over the -- alive. And so book. The weighted cement. And a job lives. Is that. Is it sausage checking her public. Well. Oh okay. Me as being created equal to persist well. She took the trouble lies in the fall. And unlike. Personal flawless hospital. It was quite right a lot of quiet -- In Milan Italy. Vegetables to -- it was just not good and the key -- with a pill PM the night. That's unbelievable that -- -- -- -- when -- went black and first became popular around the country it was a cajun blackened whatever. And the the idea was it just make it -- and the idea of black and was not to make it so hot that you can't even taste anymore. It is horrible and that thing that thing about it was is coming in a black and hasn't told flavor and you know huge -- district. Just use despite -- to enhance the natural -- or whatever as well. -- -- -- -- So seamless pipe and a -- like -- -- you know -- can't call themselves customers in physical pain. And it's it proceeded you know you and I can talk about this and and for those who maybe haven't experienced what's supposed to be Louisiana food New Orleans boots or else it's interesting to. To talk about it but I really wanted to spend a few minutes with you tonight spread to it just talk about what a great. What a great representative viewer for New Orleans and here's a text that comes in hey Fred thanks for representing us I have not to I've not missed a chance to seal. When you dollar Jazz -- keep up the good work -- -- and -- -- you a chance this this year and that was that was awesome now you're so good on stage for a but I have a feeling that even if you're -- Moines and talked about the Moines the way you talk about New Orleans people would get all riled up. But it has to make you feel really good to see the response that you get about. About the the city of New Orleans. You know me. Yeah. I gotta you gotta give credit where credit to. Back in the the late eighties. Kind of -- home country rockabilly band called -- for. -- we actually carry Japan on. Our mark on tour sheer outcome. Colin -- circle I. And in a shot her. -- as -- Into the music -- like the clash and the Sex Pistols and Q how are EM and I like that and that thing that. I really noticed was that like -- -- at the trying to play in archer or at least as far. On a treat these little -- layer and seek. -- -- it's kind of cool and they talked about it from torture a lot. And I thought well -- and trying to seek any room. Let's start playing -- that -- brought you it was spirit built a purposefully. -- currently triggers his hand. She's very adamant about. Promote in these. I mean more so. -- was. Which will both do -- Primarily. Open source south. Bad -- -- bankers that. Crowd Heatley trial open and temperatures in contrast on -- I ever easy. Twenty. Park. I'd never. Looked at my old heritage. In terms the terms of musical influence him -- a lot of that credit has a pill could indicate He very conscious. Very appreciative my room culture. Com. We won't bust all your you know old I thought He played Oregon. Until. A lot of people get older that they realized its history special you know I was I was taught that. At a very very young age. You know because during the bill is kind of musical IPO and Champa and also experiences I had just tore out -- that hand. And you know missing moment realizing that there aren't though there are no Pope always. Even you know him. Naperville ill and you know. You're right and I I think there were things about the city that I didn't realize. How much I miss those things until I moved back over the last the last two years. I'm definitely of those places to get your blood in the case and you put on -- year. Born here or you know when He just I know a lot of people who've come here is for -- a major grad school or something like that. And you know pictures here believe because each way of life just contribute blood you know that said. You know I think -- had played here 24 sevenths for the past 25 years are probably gone berserk around. It is the things that you love -- war on Google are also sometimes the things about the contract Ukraine's. Yeah -- can certainly relate to that. I'm studying for Tommy Tucker tonight on WW LH seven the AM when a 53 FM we're talking to -- to blow -- Cowboy -- there they're on tour in Shreveport tomorrow night at the warehouse. And it Harris Saturday night. And if Fred for those of you who don't know for it is just such. Such a great spokesperson for for New Orleans and having -- Cowboy Mouth and a couple of different cities it's just a it brings it chills in the ride by hear you talk about the city and and you know you're you're irrelevant and I would also say that you. Your your political without being political you know you hear you talk about it -- the troubles that New Orleans is still with Katrina. And the oil spill and you deal within a year with you music and you bring those things up and you eat you promote New Orleans in such a way that. Yeah -- it seems like we are such a very very strong city and it seems like no matter what we have to come up against we can deal with it and I love the way you bring it out. It's about sometimes it's about politics but you're really bipartisan. Completely bipartisan I mean you know quite honestly believe you know in terms of politics -- lead to both sides are urged I'm hopeful that and I mean. If you if you lived in new war -- yourself -- here in general I mean you'd you'd learn you know the researchers that you know. The governments -- to take care I mean they're not going to you know you can you can kind of you can kind of -- Hang your hat on one side and essentially other means. -- I think we learn down here in at that is just kind of power grab and that it shouldn't that the a lot of the parents unfortunately about the money in the power. To the citizens. And He would do decrepit and the stick. We. But the thing about it is about here is that the people of interest. We frequently used to be part of something. The life force in question our own computer. There's it's said that there was. Because they're all that support Google threat. They should or could be wiped off the chase -- -- I can recruit or are all that stopped this before. That people in trying to take life a little more heart. You're informed some lip with almost no matter how they find out whether or certain other party's -- through him. And these. Other churches and eat and then -- week. All call me. That's. Always been very fortunate -- you don't think about the thing about -- or ordinances. That kind of weird kind of an insider and an outsider. I mean I I was born or -- I was born a war that apparently -- from more all of my people from. Around a plurality then. Plaque. And talk like there should be like -- I too far less happy. That all might well that's where. Chicago -- Call for Friday party. -- that yours and then come back on -- -- or com. And that was a lot of exposure by culture not only. Too -- you more culture and our unique items that I have relatives and choke and also tell my patients. And I got an -- and it just has a problem. Exposed to try to all EU look we simultaneously. And you don't have a lot. Up. -- -- on the actually all in the top forty. World famous and not collect up to -- about something or. It right. -- Roger -- Until much much later on. In your wallet dot Egypt and started. Just -- and in two meters you know rappers sampled. It you know. It was such an isolated culture of -- terms also. There's also. Accused cajun influence. Within Michael elements that any country. Your country -- to -- or dislike for sure it's it's just all that -- into -- all in all the music which is why. I was able -- -- term or interest in coming from cops. Can't. Collins. Turned loose I'm -- -- Interesting description you remember the early years of dash rip rock what I like about the show to the Fred I wish more I wish more. Bands would do this but you'd you'd do such a great job of telling people. You know for this moment for for a while we're on stage for this moment that we are all together. Forget about your problems forget about Washington forget about everything that's bothering you when your life. We're just here to have fun. And there's almost it's almost a zen like attitude about about what you talk about. I can -- actually that it's. There -- a very conscious. Effort when -- first. Formed when it first got together. He turned to talk about different things that you'd be in good first got together you know at rehearsed with. Off Sanchez and all aren't true at all. Three month and -- It was terrible I mean I mean it was on bad that is like. Embarrassingly. -- -- really changed yet which. Auckland was in the country. Can you Apollo and -- -- for years. To. Halt. There's like it got to a point where we were just -- this is work we're gonna stop and then one in one not a moral. And she would you and so got his number and call them -- And I gave my cassette -- surrounds any change mean literally that. One of the most evil at least musical which legitimate. Data that game and so can legally dead. European be shown during which in the station. -- -- When I knew you guys -- -- be -- and and Harrison and He had a new CD out ideas want to spend a few minutes with you on the air it would be great if you've been in the studio we'll do that we'll do that next time. You know you can appreciate that Cowboy Mouth in New Orleans and Louisiana but you use. You can really appreciate how much they do for New Orleans when you see them in another city and I'm just I'm proud to have senior -- in other cities and oh. Thank you know there's always a pleasure should not on the road like I wouldn't. He do that here in favor. Wherever it -- we're -- What we're gonna do is really going to this break I'm gonna -- -- denied thanks for being with us for gonna going to this break when the last time you in the studio. You had to -- you're known as a drummer and a singer but you're also a good singer songwriter and guitar player this is one of sort of my favorite Cowboy -- songs. Honey tell someone Fred thanks a lot have a great show and now -- talked decent. He got a man behind it to compete comparison all right. And cipher it says don't talk to me not die and death and -- we pulled down and zoom -- on cell lines that I don't know. Hollywood talent right now to talk more about this controversial photograph that was taken by a White House photographer. President Obama back in your comments. Coming up next but here's for a long time -- now. He was in the studio in his last undated have you seen. That's -- a bit more so it's makes little business bulletin news Brian. Yeah yeah. You can run and call me. 11 PM it's. -- -- -- How do you tell someone and you don't vote then. He'd sell some want to see you don't care anti. I -- cells come off me you know. On land and then dad. The New York City school system now has a mandatory. Sex education curriculum for middle school and high school students. It is set off quite in debates and that's our big 870 ready general opinion poll who should teach your middle school kids about sex you. The school both. Or is middle school far too young for this -- you go to WWL dot com we'll check in with mark minority just a minute. And get an update on their poll also Wear a talking about a photograph controversial photographs of president Obama and it was a taken at the ceremony of the -- returned the remains they're returning from the thirty soldiers. Who were killed and in Afghanistan and helicopter crash tragically you know over the weekend. What's interesting is there's not supposed to be any photographs is is this political it's a very. Very honorable photographed. But if there were supposed to be no photographs. Is this something that should not have happened the Pentagon was surprised. If you haven't seen the photographs yet if you haven't seen I'm sure you will see it but if you haven't seen yet. He answered very nice photograph but I have a little problem with. The request that there are no photographs and yet there's a photograph. Again this could be politically motivated and I got to be honest with -- -- idea I don't I don't like that. -- if you haven't seen the photographs. Will hold it up to the microphone again in just a few minutes and what you take a look at it and again if you just joined us I'll do the best I can't describe it to you. And we'll talk about that also there are some Indian American American Indian students. They filed a lawsuits. Trying to get the University of North Dakota to drop the name -- the fighting -- Harry go again with that. What's wrong with the fighting Sioux. I -- in for Tommy Tucker glad you're with us tonight if you wanna join -- for comment about anything we're talking about tonight or any -- were on the -- -- 2601870. And toll free 8668890870. And you can text -- show by texting 87870. Here's a text that reads the copy of the picture that I saw came from whitehouse dot got so. Again as respectful as this picture is is it respectful that a picture was released from this ceremony. At the last couple of nights we have talked about something that continues to become bigger and bigger news in that is the request from a a gay activist group. A request that Sesame Street allow Bert. And Ernie. To get married. And this story has somehow gained momentum. It's it's ridiculous if you listen to me under VW well you know how I feel about. Equality gay rights and even same sex marriage so. And that you think this would be something that would be totally for -- I'm really not an hour mark Menard to to read. The response from a Sesame Street work workshop. The people who do Sesame Street they have responded to the idea. That there's a request there's a an online from promotion to get the -- -- petition that's a petition to get Bert and Ernie to get married and I love. The response from Sesame Street I think it's absolutely brilliant these people should be White House spokesperson now. This is a this is a bring your thoughts -- here's what here's what Sesame Street the producers had to say about the protest to get bird. First I guess I should say that the recent this group wants them to get married. Is to. Make it seem as if it will not make it seem that. To reflect the idea that it's okay to be gay. And this might help with gay suicides this might help with. I'm gay bullying and to make everybody feel like they're they're beautiful which was a part of the -- regular song beautiful. That was the reason for the requested in the protest that they get married. Now here is the response from Sesame Street. Well and here's the thing because by doing this sentence -- it puts Sesame Street in to a very awkward position where if you say no it's like -- line not the you know like gay people and it it opens up a whole can of worms I thought like you that they handled that very well it's brilliant they've they've posted this on the on the the Sesame Street official FaceBook page. It says. Quote Bert and Ernie are best friends they were created to teach preschoolers that people can be good friends with those who are very different from themselves. Even though they are identified as male characters and assessment human traits and characteristics. As most Sesame Street Muppets do. They remain puppets and do not have a sexual orientation. And I think that's I think it's brilliant because there. The pop -- And end. This is an example of a gay advocacy group going too far and I think not helping. Their own and their only intent. Because their puppets and if -- and puppets don't. Have sex they don't have sexuality. And the only thing that distinguishes homosexuals and heterosexuals. Is a very personal. Adult activity that takes place in the bedroom and puppets don't have that. That -- we get -- and I don't appreciate. Something like that being projected on to something that's supposed to be in -- that's what I don't like I agree. But we have more. Breaking Sesame Street news for -- we do. They were they released depressed press release today about season 42. Of the award winning series while. About the -- list stars will be guest starring on this upcoming season of Sesame Street and among the A list stars listed. There is some award winning an award nominated actors like Robin Williams Nicole Kidman Amy Adams and the stone. Seth Rogen Andy Samberg. Jerry O'Connell. Jimmy Kimmel Conan O'Brien lots of stars. And our own quarterback and Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees will -- on the upcoming season Sesame Street that's going to be awesome it'll be interesting if -- -- -- He is such under a great citizen of New Orleans and also of this this country in such a great example of five just a quality person with a wonderful character that they could've picked a better person to be on Sesame Street Israelis. And He is really a wonderful ambassador for the city of new ones and another guy. Was going to be on the upcoming season that a lot of people don't know has New Orleans ties. Can G all. Who is in the TV series community He was in the paint over movies. Was He the guy that popped out of the -- He has the -- -- pops out of the truck He He is an actual doctor in real life and He did his as internal medicine residency was an option there. While and He got his big break by winning the -- the Big Easy laugh off. And NBC president Brandon Tartikoff saw him in the Big Easy laugh off. Told him He needs to move to LA Sunday and pursue comedy and when He finished his residency He did He moved to LA and now. This past summer He was a billion dollar movie style between the hangover part two and transformers three both movies He was in. That they date date together grossed a billion dollars so He was they -- billion dollar movie star. He's he's not originally from here but He lived here for quite some nobody could not laugh or charcoal. When you say always that the guy you popped out of the drunken angry at what when I tell my wife here's a bit Sesame Street she says He can -- out Oscar's trash can play that could. ID card that that would be more controversial than -- earnings and merry quality force of shorts. All right the big 87 great general people's like we had you -- with an update on this who should teach your middle school children about sex -- at the school both or. Is middle school far too young for this you can cast your vote. -- WL dot com analyst and David mark I got four choices tonight the school should is trailing way behind with only 1% of the vote. And the aid than the option that Nolan Nolan because a middle school child is too young only has 9%. At least the other two choices a combination of both. Has 38%. And the parents themselves 53%. Of the vote. Thank god art art our listeners are so smart because they get it yes it should be the parents I agree and we learn about sex from our school. What we learned about it at school from some of the kids who were little older more experienced but that's not where we should learn about it. And I I think sometimes I think sometimes parents. May not realize it but they they want the school to be teaching their kids about sex because they don't wanna have to have the conversation with their kids because it's uncomfortable. You know it shouldn't be uncomfortable you're a parent it's not something to be embarrassed about it's on its human nature it's. Our god given instinct needs to be respected. And handled in the right way with the right person acts. The right time. And it's something that parents should teach their kids and -- give you this little bit of advice and end I was far from a perfect dad. But I had the sex conversation with my son when He was. When He was young I wanna say about. About nine. And you know kids mature. A lot faster that are exposed to things a lot earlier so it in my opinion middle school is not too young to teach your kids about sex. But it might be uncomfortable is apparent but even if before nine -- May by -- was eight when this happened. The earlier you have the conversation with your kids to the earlier that you introduce them to basic conversation about sex. The less you have to tell them the less uncomfortable He has the less graphic it has to be. You can there's there's there's so many ways to just tell them just what they need to know and let them ask you questions. And if they don't ask a question -- that don't go there with it. And when you have a conversation with your kids when they're younger about sex and I -- a child psychologist but I can just tell you what what works for me and maybe this will help you and maybe -- work for you. If you have a conversation when they're younger. You can leave the uncomfortable. Erotic aspect of sex totally out of it you can just talk about it as a fact of life in it. At one time it was actually referred to as the facts of life. -- do you know what the facts of like with the birds and the bees which any relief under stood that but it. I never understood that -- -- partners didn't didn't use that analogy my parents really didn't talk to me about it. Federal -- -- -- -- in my prayers -- were perfect love them and they love me unconditionally and that's that's really thank -- forward to this stay still. Love them for that. But their parents and should be wants to teach their kids about sex if you majorities -- be don't wanna leave it up to the the one friend of your kids. Who found the secret stash of magazines. And and you know because. Boys will be boys rally in there and you'll find the things that they're not supposed to find I got a story about that my dad always had those around and -- -- just say the neighbors like to come to buy -- house and and well anyway -- Actually it was and at our house but. Anyway I'll get into that we come back I can't speak for girls but I with a boy in the eighties and -- a member of we we learned about it pretty young from the kids in the school we. I'm scoots on WWL -- the Tommy Tucker again that is not the place you need to learn about it. We're coming right back -- hang on. What celebrities should run for president in your opinion well at least we're getting the opinion of Michael Moore He has already made his endorsement of which celebrity should run for president. Yeah it's it's Michael Moore will talked about that's a little bit later in the show and also do you remember her in -- story about the true story. This cycle the Barefoot Bandit. He has -- an amazing amazing story. Now this -- broke the law. And as far as I know -- didn't kill anybody really hurting -- but it was just amazing how He would break in houses He He would steal planes and apparently He learned to fly planes from a of video game. But the Barefoot Bandit has signed a one point three million dollar movie deal. But agrees that the profits will go to the victims can't wait to see that story. I'm Stuart when Debbie WL for Tommy Tucker if you wanna join us for the comets and Michael to 601878. And toll free 86688 -- early seventy we're talking about a controversial photograph. I've taken by a White House photographer was it was allowed to take this photograph and distributed to. And it's from the ceremony for the return of the remains of the thirty American troops killed in that we can helicopter crash. And I in Afghanistan the Pentagon did not know this was going to happen and I I knew that the president is the commander in chief. Blacks this does show the president in a very positive light which is it is is is fine with me but if no photograph was supposed to come out of this then. Isn't this a political move on the part of the White House and shouldn't there have been more respect for this event they don't show the caskets. -- flag draped caskets they don't show the Stanley it's. It's a silhouette means obviously the president but it's a partial silhouette of the president.
